Miami Native & Latino: Fro Rojas directs feature film “Tio Papi"

South Florida based Hispanic Director, Fro Rojas directs his first feature film titled “Tio Papi” aka “Uncle Daddy”, a drama with light hearted comedy that will be screening at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale Film Festival November 10-11, 2012 this weekend.

A little about this Director, Rojas is a graduate of the Miami International University of
Art & Design. Following his dream to become a Director, he moved to Los Angeles after graduating college. The films storyline is very similar to Fro’s experience, in that upon learning of his mother’s cancer diagnosis, he returned home to care for her and following her death, he made the decision
to raise his younger sister. This experience is what drew him to the film, Tio Papi. The film follows Ray Ray (Joey Dedio), a bachelor of sorts who reluctantly inherits his 6 nieces and nephews after his sister passes away. Kelly McGillis (Top Gun), Frankie Faison (Silence of the Lambs, The Wire, One Life to Live) and Fatima Ptacek, the voice of Dora the Explorer star in the film.

Currently Rojas and producer partner Debbie Margolis Horwitz are working on their next feature film project, “With Us” based on a story by Fro Rojas and Brian Herskowitz.

“Tio Papi was a lot of fun to direct and work on, with so many great people from cast to crew. Getting to work with such a diverse and brilliant cast was just simply amazing. “ said Fro Rojas. We’re excited for all the upcoming projects we’ve been working on including our next feature film, With Us. We wrapped up one feature last year and are ready to start production on the next one.” – Kreative Kontent
